      Description

      In English

Bali is synonymous with temples and Hindus. About 97% of Bali's population adheres to Hinduism. Even though the majority of the people are Hindus, tolerance among religious communities in Bali is very high.
Real proof of religious harmony in Bali is the existence of the Puja Mandala Worship Center in the Nusa Dua area. This place has 5 places of worship at once in one place.

Puja Mandala Worship Center Built on 2 hectares of land, these 5 buildings were built fairly. The buildings have the same area and height. There are no boundaries between one building and another. Having 1 courtyard with the same entrance, they can mingle with each other even though they are heading to different places to worship.

The Hindu community still respects Muslims who are fasting. Not only Hindus, Balinese people who are Christians, Catholics, and Buddhists also respect Muslims who fast. Vice versa, Muslim society also respects followers of other religions who do not fast by not protesting against adherents of other religions who eat and drink.

Not a few mosques are located side by side with temples, churches or monasteries. Even so, inter-religious harmony is still well established in Bali. Especially when fasting like now. An example is during the celebration of Nyepi Day last March which coincides with Friday, where Muslims are required to perform Friday prayers. Muslims are still permitted to carry out their obligations to the mosque, even being escorted by traditional pecalang. Muslims also respect Hindus who are practicing Catur Brata Penyepian by not using loudspeakers in mosques

Religious tolerance in Bali is high. It is very rare to hear of clashes between religions on this Island of the Gods. All of the people live peacefully even though they have different regional customs. If this tolerance were created in all regions in Indonesia, you can imagine the peace of our nation. Bali, with its Hindu majority, will continue to maintain harmony and tolerance between religions.

      In Balinese

Bali identik sareng pura miwah umat Hindu. Ak hnyan 97 krama Bali nganut agama Hindu. Yadiastun krama Bali katahnyane krama Hindu, nanging toleransi antar agama ring Bali kalintang ageng.

Conto nyane inggih punika ri tatkala rahina Nyepi ring bulan Maret sane sampun lintang sane jatuh ring rahina Jumuah, rikala umat Islam wajib ngamargiang salat Jumat. Umat Islam kantun kalugra ngamargiang kewajibannyane ka mesjid, taler kajaga olih para pelaku adat. Krama Muslim taler ngajiang krama Hindu sane ngelaksanayang Catur Brata Kesepian antuk nenten ngangge suara ring mesjid.

Toleransi antar umat agama ring Bali sane tegeh. In Balinese: Nenten sering wenten konflik antar agama ring Pulau Dewata puniki. Y ning toleransi puniki prasida kapolihang ring sajebag Indon sia, iraga prasida ngambayang kerahayuan bangsa iraga. Bali antuk mayoritas Hindu pacang tetep ngajegang kerahayuan miwah toleransi antar agama.

      In Indonesian

Bali identik dengan pura dan umat Hindunya. Sekitar 97% penduduk Bali memeluk agama Hindu.
