I believe in order to create a comfortable environment, everyone need to implement the asah, asih, and asuh in daily life. Asah, asih, and asuh for better environment and better nation.

    Description

    In English

Bali is an island where the majority of the population follows the Hindu religion, but there are also communities of other religions such as Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism and Confucianism. Each religion has lived together peacefully, respecting each other, so the religious harmony in Bali is very close and harmonious.

Asah, Asih, and Asuh are three principles that must be applied in daily life, including in the matter of religious harmony. Asah emphasizes the importance of cooperation and mutual assistance among religious communities. Asih emphasizes the importance of empathy and understanding the feelings and views of others, and treating them well. Asuh emphasizes the importance of education and guidance to form individuals with values of togetherness and tolerance. Some of the customs and cultures in Bali that can be taken as concrete evidence of religious harmony are the celebration of the Nyepi holiday, which is a day celebrated by the Hindu community by fasting (Catur Brata Penyepian) for 24 hours. The existence of the Nyepi holiday celebration cannot be separated from the collaboration between religious communities in Bali, because non-Hindu communities also participate by following the rules and not conducting activities during the Nyepi holiday. Another example is the tradition of Ngejot, which is a tradition of giving food to neighbors as a sign of gratitude, which is carried out by Hindu and Muslim communities during the Galungan and Kuningan celebrations. Religious harmony in Bali can also be seen in the form of cooperation between religious groups in addressing social and environmental problems. For example, churches and mosques cooperate with the government and community in initiating social activities, ranging from social assistance for the less fortunate to environmental conservation efforts.

It is not excessive to call Bali an island of tolerance, implementing the motto of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) which is Bhineka Tunggal Ika. Bali is a miniature world, a model in every interpretation of tolerance, which is religious harmony in the philosophy of Asah, Asih and Asuh.
