Yadnya

  • originally meant oblation, sacrifice, or worship
  • now used to denote a religious ceremony or rite. Sometimes a distinction is made between upacara and yadnya, in that the former is a ceremony, which is sekala, whereas the latter, yadnya, is what you do at a ceremony, i.e. worship, which is niskala.
