              The teething ceremony or ngempugin is carried out when the child's teeth begin to grow for the first time. The word ngempugin in Balinese means the gums are starting to swell as a sign that the teeth are about to grow. This ceremony aims to ask Lord Surya, Lord Brahma, and Dewi Sri so that the baby's teeth grow well, white, clean, not moldy or eaten by caterpillars.
