Bali has taught me some lessons that I will keep with me in other stages of life.

An important lesson I’ve learned is that every place presents you with an opportunity to grow, you just need the courage to say yes! Bali gives everyone the opportunity to explore the outdoors (either in the mountains or underwater), and this gives everyone the chance to gain a new skill, make new friends or develop a love for the natural world. Recently, I have gotten the courage and determination to say yes to become a certified Open Water Diver.
This experience has been incredibly rewarding, as I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, my friendships grew with those I trained with and my eyes were opened to the beauty of the underwater world. With this opportunity, I realised how pressing the issues of coral bleaching and unsustainable fishing actually are and am now more determined to be a part of the solution. From this, I will join a coral restoration project in Les Village because no matter how small we contribute, every action makes a difference. We must think about the global implications yet, take action locally.

The Balinese open up their island to all of us, foreigners and Indonesians so we can experience the island’s beauty and it is crucial for us to not take this for granted. I realise that a society which hugely depends on tourism has a risk, therefore respecting the customs and traditions in Bali should be a no brainer, as we would hope and expect the same of others if they are visiting our home. As of 25th March 2023, 76 foreigners have been deported from

Bali for reasons that range from overstaying visas to committing crimes. Although this is a small percentage compared to the number of tourists, in this digital era, their actions go viral and can harm the image of Bali. While Bali is well-known for its tourism because of its beauty, kindness and approachability, I believe that rules should be enforced in order to maintain the quality of tourism that this island offers.

Moreover, during my time here I’ve come to realise that it’s important to diversify and not put all our eggs in the same basket. During the pandemic, tourism was at a standstill which hit the people and local economy dramatically. Therefore, the Balinese have adapted to diversify their work portfolio such as farming, establishing small businesses or fishing. This lesson will carry on with me in the future, because it has shown me that trying different opportunities will help us to continue growing and adapting to an ever changing world.

I will continue to learn more lessons in Bali and am grateful for all the opportunities and experiences that I’ve gotten alongside the lessons that have come with it.ngside the lessons that have come with it.)

Tourism in Bali is the source of the economy that supports most Balinese people. But as it is now, Bali tourism has dimmed since the Covid-19 virus is endemic in the world. It has been two years since the Covid-19 virus has attacked our beloved earth. Several policies have been implemented. However, Bali tourism has not been able to return to normal. We as citizens, especially as young Balinese, should provide and carry out creative efforts that can stimulate tourism in Bali.

In this era of globalization, everything is digital and sophisticated. We can use this advanced technological development as a tool to generate tourism in Bali. One of the creative businesses that can generate tourism in Bali is an application called BALI MELALI. This application uses technology in the form of VR or Virtual Reality. In the BALI MELALI application, it displays tourism destinations in Bali. If you use this VR technology, tourists or anyone who has downloaded the BALI MELALI application can see the tourism places that we want. Using this VR, tourism destinations in Bali can be seen for real, this can foster a sense of longing for Bali and cause tourists to want to come again to Bali.

In the BALI MELALI application, it not only displays well-known tourism destinations, but should also display places that are not widely known. That's why in this application it is very good if it shows places that are not known by many people. Not only that, the BALI MELALI application does not only display virtual or images, but can be filled with sounds that are in that place. This is an illustration that it is underestimated in the process of making a book. Unfortunately books like this are used in schools. How can students absorb the lessons? How to awaken students' interest in studying Balinese script? At that time Lake Bratan did not yet exist. Long story short, the mother had a secret affair with a dragon snake that dwelled in a rice barn near her house. The children started to get suspicious; why does mother every time she comes home from the forest go up into the barn? At one point, when mother went into the forest again, the children climbed into the barn. Inside the barn they saw a pile of eggs larger than chicken eggs. In the middle of the pile of eggs there was a strange egg. They took the egg home and cooked it. Then the boy ate it. Instantly the boy turned into a snake. Because they were worried about causing commotion in the village, the boy and girl decided to go into the forest looking for their mother. The sister carried her brother. They met their mother deeply in love with a dragon. They were angry, because they thought that because of the dragon the brother had become like that. He challenged the dragon snake to fight. In the end, the brother who had been transformed into a snake defeated the dragon. But unfortunately their mother also died in the fight. The siblings went up to Bukit Lesung. Arriving there, the brother thought he must enter the bowels of the earth, because he had become a dragon, named Naga Gombang. So as not to upset his sister, he told her to get water with a basket. While his sister was getting water, the brother entered the mountain crater. When his sister returned from getting water, the brother had already disappeared into the bowels of the earth. I saw a lot of foreign nationals driving recklessly on motorcycles and cars. I was shocked to see them, and it made me feel uneasy. I was afraid of being hit by one of those foreign nationals, who may not even realize they were doing something wrong. Why do these reckless foreign nationals come to Bali? Why aren't the rental companies keeping an eye on them and ensuring they know how to drive properly on the roads? Instead of just taking their money, we should teach them how to drive properly through the police department. Let's all work together, including the rental companies, to test foreign nationals before renting them motorcycles or cars. Let's build and maintain Bali as a safe place for everyone. The narration in this palm-leaf manuscript begins with Bhatari Uma's request that Bhatara Kumara ask Bhatara Siwa about the teachings that lead one to liberation. Bhatara Kumara then asked about the origin of the universe. Everything that exists comes from God in the spiritual realm (niskala). From the stagnant state then arises the basic material forms of the universe called the matras. From the matras, following successive nada, windu and ardhacandra which then causes a condition called wiswa. From wiswa comes letters which included swara (vowels) and wyanjana (consonants) which were the embodiments of the gods. With the embodiment of such gods, the priests are encouraged to worship them equipped with pure paraphernalia consisting of flowers, seeds, rice, incense, oil lamps and sandalwood water. The use of such equipment is in line with the understanding of the holiness of the form of God Almighty, which is stated in various media including Omkara. The manifestation of God in other relationships is in the relationship between the god and the cardinal directions.
This Tutur Parakriya lontar manuscript is mostly about phonetic characters and combinations of those characters that give birth to various forms in the universe. Actually, this palm-leaf text is a Sanskrit text that is thought to originate from the tenth century. Possibly, this Sanskrit text is also a copy of more authentic Puranas. The Sanskrit text in Wrespati Tattwa consists of 74 verses and each verse is given a translation and commentary in ancient Javanese language. Such system has been common since the reign of King Dharmawangsa in Panjalu. Therefore, this palm-leaf text was probably translated into ancient Javanese around that era.

Wrespati (Wrihaspati) was a great rsi who became a teacher of the gods. He is a brahmana who rules Planet Jupiter. Therefore, if Planet Jupiter approaches the moon, Hindus consider it a good day to start learning spiritual knowledge. In Wrespati Tattwa, there is a dialog between Rsi Wrihaspati and Lord Shiva, the ruler of Mount Kailasa. The content of the dialog includes the existence of cosmic consciousness or cetana, and cosmic darkness or acetana.

Cetana and acetana cause various types of differences in the universe. Cetana and acetana also cause an increase and deterioration of the mind. Because of increased awareness, humans reach higher planets after death, which is known as swargaloka (heavens). Conversely, when human consciousness degenerates, they sink into terrible planets called naraka (hell). So, heaven and hell are on other planets, not on Earth.

Many people mistakenly interpret the teachings of Wrespati Tattwa and conclude that heaven and hell only exist in the mind. This is a wrong conclusion. In fact, if the text of Wrespati Tattwa is interpreted more deeply, the mind is cause of humans’ going to heaven, hell or achieve liberation. The mind binds man in the chains of desires, and without intelligence and knowledge, man will be made degenerated by his own desires.

Lontar Wrespati Tattwa also teaches about how to achieve liberation. According to this text, liberation can only be achieved if one is freed from illusions. Illusion means to think that he is a gross body and think that this material nature is his eternal abode. Such awareness can only be achieved by a process called yoga. Yoga does not mean merely gymnastic movements. Yoga means connecting the mind with spiritual awareness.necting the mind with spiritual awareness.)

Yamaloka is the gate of the court of spirit, where every deed will be weighed according to the provisions of the Dharma law.

According to this ejection, the spirit of the deceased will encounter many strange things during the journey to Yamaloka. • Harmonious is not cool, but an obligation + (According to KBBI (the official IndonesianAccording to KBBI (the official Indonesian Language Dictionary), harmony means not fighting, being united in heart, agreeing, in a good and peaceful manner. We must understand these five things and have them within each of us. According to Setara Institute researchers, one of the trends throughout 2022 is the continued increase in cases of disturbances to places of worship. Then, there are other trends such as violations of freedom of religion and belief. Of the 333 acts of violation of freedom of religion and belief, 94 were mostly committed by residents (quoted from the @voaindonesia upload).
With the cases that occurred, the meaning of harmony faded. It is only spoken in the mouth but cannot be felt in reality. The motto ‘harmony is cool’ is, in my opinion, not quite right, because Basuki Tjahaya Purnama once said “If an official is not corrupt, they do not need to be respected because that is indeed their oath of office.” It’s the same with harmony. We must understand, own and do it to our fellow human beings. From the smallest scale, namely in the family, we must provide education about harmony, as well as at school. This is the most basic foundation in character building. In society, we must also have the courage to be agents of change, setting an example that whatever religion we adhere to (which has been recognized by the Indonesian government) is good. We should not gossip, for example when we are working late at the office to replace a colleague who is having a holiday service. Unity can be shown by no discrimination among friends and being willing to get along with any friends at school and agreeing to help for the religious holidays. Also, we can start simple benevolence by saying ‘sorry’, ‘thank you’ and ‘please’ to anyone.
These things are just small things that we can definitely do.
