Usage Examples

Apa magelebug ngejengit? Nyuh pongpongan.
[example 1]
What is it that falls with a thud and bares its teeth? A coconut with a hole in it. (riddle) The sound that a coconut makes when it falls is gelebug. Often a squirrel or something else will eat a hole in it. This is then said to be pongpongan - a coconut with a hole. This looks (sort of) like a head with a mouth that is open - hence bare teeth.

Ririh-ririhan semale makecog dia cepoke masih taen magelebug.
[example 2]
(proverb) The cleverest possible squirrel will fall down on one occasion. Someone praises a third party. A person who hears this then says this about this third party, who is not there, meaning that this third party cannot be as perfect as described. Also said by someone who makes a mistake – nobody is perfect.
