Balinese
Luwung-luwungan gedebong tusing mekelo tuwuhne.
English
(proverb) The best possible banana trunks do not last a long time. Used in a situation in which the looks of something is good, but which will not last very long. The person who says this already knows that the thing that his friend bought will not last very long and tells him the above. After the friend has found out for himself that the thing does not last very long, he may say it to somebody else, if, perhaps, this other person asks him. You have to know that the thing will not last very long in order to say it. But the person who sells the thing will never say this.
