Sometimes referred to as cantok, but this term means anything used for hitting something else (nyantok) such that a sound is produced. Panyantokan is usually used on a batu basa, a flat stone spice grinding mortar. However when making ketipat cantok, a popular warung dish, the pestle is often used on a flat red clay dish with narrow edges, which is called cobek.
