Ketipat

  • diamond shaped boiled rice cakes
  • performed after a wedding in which the family of the man visits the family of the woman bringing offerings, among which are ketipat bantal. Bantal is the name of an elongated jaja (cake), wrapped in busung. Ketipat is the name of a large variety of sizes and shapes of loosely woven busung containers which are filled with rice and cooked. In the ketipat bantal ceremony the family of the man brings quantities of offerings in each of which a single bantal is tied to two small ketipats, with obvious symbolism of the male genitalia
