    The Neduh Ceremony or Wali Neduh is an annual special ceremony performed by people of Bunutin Village, Kintamani, Bangli. This ceremony is carried out around Sasih Katiga (the third month of the Balinese lunar calendar) and was attended by all villagers. As one of the villages that adheres to the traditional Bali Aga administrative system, village management is divided into two authorities called sibakan, namely "Sibakan Luh" (left wing, feminine) and "Sibakan Muani" (right wing, masculine).

    One characteristic of ancient Balinese culture is the existence of the concept of inseparable man and woman elements. Likewise in the Neduh ceremony, the concept of unifying masculine and feminine elements is very clear. Almost all components of the ceremony, both the material and the people involved contain this masculine-feminine philosophy, known as Purusa-Pradhana.

    The essence of the Neduh ceremony is a ceremony of 'marrying' two types of water, namely masculine and feminine waters. Feminine water is obtained from Kayehan Desa, a spring in the river in the northern part of the village, while masculine water is obtained from a spring that appears in Dalem Pingit Melamba Temple which is located at the southern end of the village.

    The procession of the Neduh ceremony lasts for three days. On the first day, villagers collect holy water from the two holy places. The water was then stored by Jero Kubayan at Bale Agung Temple. To find the holy water, residents go on foot. On the second day, the residents erected a very high penjor in the middle of the Bale Agung Temple courtyard. This penjor contains various kinds of crops and leaves that symbolize prosperity.

    The third day is the most sacred day because the Ngodog procession takes place at midnight. Ngodog is a water wedding procession that has been kept in Bale Agung. Accompanied by a sacred hymn sung by the wife of Jero Kubayan (a spiritual and traditional leader of Bunutin), water from two bamboo containers is poured little by little into the vessel. The treated water is then distributed among the villagers to be sprinkled on the rice fields, fields, and yards.

    After the last line of the sacred hymn is sung, the girls gathered around the penjor cut the coconut leaf bundles on the penjor. If it breaks in one hit, it is believed that the ceremony will receive a blessing and the girl will get a future husband. If it doesn't break in one fell swoop, people believe that it will be difficult for her to find a husband.

    Upacara Neduh atau Wali Neduh adalah upacara khas tahunan yang dilakukan oleh warga Desa Bunutin, Kintamani, Bangli. Upacara ini dilakukan berkisar pada Sasih Katiga dan diikuti oleh semua warga desa. Sebagai salah satu desa yang menganut sistem tata administrasi tradisional Bali aga, kepengurusan desa dibagi menjadi dua otoritas yang disebut sibakan, yaitu Sibakan Luh (sayap kiri, feminin) dan Sibakan Muani (sayap kanan, maskulin).

    Salah satu ciri khas kebudayaan Bali kuno adalah adanya konsep laki-laki dan perempuan yang berdampingan. Demikian pula pada upacara Neduh, konsep penyatuan unsur maskulin dan feminin sangat kentara. Hampir seluruh komponen upacara, baik bahan maupun orang-orang yang terlibat mengandung filosofi maskulin-feminin ini, yang dikenal sebagai Purusa-Pradhana.

Untuk mencari air suci itu,warga beriring-iringan dengan berjalan kaki. Pada hari kedua, warga mendirikan sebuah penjor yang sangat tinggi di tengah-tengah halaman Pura Bale Agung. Penjor ini berisikan berbagai macam hasil bumi dan dedaunan yang melambangkan kemakmuran.

    Hari ketiga adalah hari paling sakral sebab prosesi Ngodog akan dilakukan tepat tengah malam. Ngodog adalah prosesi pengawinan air yang telah disimpan di Bale Agung. Diiringi kidung sakral yang dinyanyikan oleh istri Jero Kubayan (pemimpin spiritual dan adatBunutin), air dari dua wadah bambu dituangkan sedikit demi sedikit ke dalam bejana. Air yang telah dikawinkan itu kemudian dibagikan kepada warga desa untuk dipercikkan ke sawah, ladang, dan pekarangan rumah.

    Setelah baris terakhir kidung sakral dinyanyikan, gadis-gadis yang berkumpul di sekitar penjor menebas ikatan janur di penjor itu. Apabila putus dalam sekali tebasan, dipercaya upacara akan mendapatkan berkah dan gadis itu akan mendapatkan jodoh. Apabila tidak putus dalam sekali tebas, orang-orang percaya bahwa ia akan sulit menemukan jodoh.
