Sambed

  • plow device that fits under the neck of an animal pulling field implement such as a cow pulling a plow
  • usually made of a strong, thich vine, bent into the form of a figure 8
  • the bottom ends of the yoke around the cow's neck protrude downward through the openings in the sambed and are held in place by the sambed
  • thus the sambed is, in effect, the means by which the animal is attached to the plow
