Description

The main focus is waste data collection, both macro and micro. Engaged in the environment by conducting scientific research, the waste is comes from rivers to the sea, data collection used the CSIRO (Australia) and KLKH (Ministry of environment and forestry) methods

Why does the innovation or project matter?

The background is that it started from the collaboration carried out with the Australian CSIRO community to collect marine debris in Bali every month at 50 points, and it turns out that the data we get in the field is very sad about this marine debris. And finally the Udayana MDG community was formed which was directly fostered by the FKP lecturer, Mr. I Gede Hendrawan, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D

How do you or your team know that the innovation or project is working (or making a positive contribution)?

The survey is carried out accurately and evenly, especially now in a small scope, namely Bali and can provide output, namely spatial and temporal data regarding waste throughout the coast of Bali.

What has contributed to the innovation or project working?

Helping to obtain scientific-based data so that further research/management can be carried out as well as public awareness about the problem of plastic waste starting to pollute the environment to the sea, where the sea is a source of food now and in the future.

What else would help the innovation or project be more successful?

The success indicator of the MDGs is that the survey is carried out accurately and evenly, especially now in a small scope, namely Bali and can provide output, namely spatial and temporal data regarding waste throughout the coast of Bali.

Is the innovation or project self-sustaining? If not, what needs to be done for that to happen?

Yes, because it is related to academic activities

What Balinese value does this initiative invoke?

Tri Hita Karana
