Unite to Reduce and Manage Waste in Religious Ceremony Activities
This is a Response to the Sampah Upacara wikithon
Pengempon Pura, manggala karya, pemedek, and traders must work together to reduce and manage post-ceremony waste at the temple. The following is my opinion regarding efforts to manage waste that can be implemented: 1) Pengempon compile regulations, form a task force to reduce and manage waste in the temple such as into fertilizer and eco enzyme, provide organic, inorganic and residual waste bins in strategic places, provide biopori holes for organic waste, conduct socialization through loudspeakers, banners, and social media, and enforce strict sanctions for violators. 2) Pemedek not to bring or use plastic bags and other products made from disposable plastics, pemedek to dispose of waste from muspa in the space provided, prohibited from disposing of lungsuran residue in the temple, and to remind other devotees about this. 3) Merchants around the temple must maintain cleanliness by not providing and using plastic bags or other products made from plastic and managing source-based waste.
