The main purpose of the Gerokgak Dam is to help farmers who are always short of water during the dry season. So during the rainy season, this dam will store a lot of water, but after the dry season comes the water will be used by farmers to irrigate their fields. The dam, which is located 159 meters above sea level, is located in Gerokgak Village, Gerokgak District, Buleleng Regency, Bali with a distance of 43 Km from the center of Singaraja City.

Bendungan Gerokgak merupakan salah satu obyek wisata buatan yang menjadi favorit di gerokgak selain dari pada Pura Pulaki Atau Pura Melanting. Banyak turis-turis manca negara yang memuji dan berkunjung ke kecamatan ini khususnya ke Bendungan Gerokgak. Tujuan utama pembuatan bendungan ini adalah untuk membantu para petani yang ketika musim kemarau selalu kekurangan air. Jadi ketika musim hujan, bendungan ini akan menyimpan banyak air, namun setelah musim kering datang airnya akan digunakan petani untuk mengairi sawahnya. Bendungan yang terletak 159 meter dari permukaan air laut ini berlokasi di desa gerokgak, kecamatan gerokgak, Kabupaten Buleleng, Bali dengan jarak Kurang Lebih 43 Km dari pusat kota Singaraja.
