                      Description(s)

This book describes the figure of Wayan Beratha (1926–2014), who was a world-class Balinese artist. Over a period of five decades, from the 1950s to the 1990s, he often participated in Indonesian arts missions abroad and performed in dozens of major countries in the world, such as America, Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, the Philippines, China, Russia, India, Iran, Italy, Cambodia, Canada, Japan, and Germany. He also performed for eight months at the New York World's Fair (1964). While in Uncle Sam's country, he created "Tabuh Gesuri" (Genta Sound of the Indonesian Revolution). Apart from being known as a Balinese Gong Kebyar figure, this retired Kokar/SMKI teacher is also nicknamed the 'Father of Ballet'.
