Description(s)
This book reviews the relationship between Bali and China as evidenced by the findings of pottery and bronze mirrors from the Han dynasty. The findings are scattered in several areas, such as the Sembiran and Pacung sites, as well as the Pangkung Paruk site, Seririt. Histopathologically, the findings of a bronze mirror at the Pangkung Paruk site are thought to have originated from the first century AD. A bronze mirror at the Pangkung Paruk site was found as burial material in a sarcophagus. Based on archaeological findings at Sembiran, Pacung, and Pangkung Paruk, Bali appears to have been involved in the international trade system in the early 19th century AD, or around 2000 years ago. The north coast of Bali appears to be a strategic location in the context of international trade, linking eastern and western Indonesia.
