                        Description(s)

The story of Sri Rama and Dewi Sita is found in the kakawin literary form in the Old Javanese tradition. The Kakawin Ramayana was written around the 9th century in Central Java, making it the oldest known kakawin literary work. This literary work is the largest and most beautiful kakawin, which later became popular in Bali. The Ramayana story which is focused on the Speech of Wibhisana contains leadership teachings which are the hallmark of the Kakawin Ramayana.
