Book is in Dutch language. Maria Rueter (1902-1999), coming from an artist family, marries the painter Hofker. In 1936 they leave for the Indies where they end up in Bali. There Maria herself also begins to draw and paint. This booklet is a collection of watercolors and drawings with Indonesian subjects: fruits, Balinese scenes, etc., but also the complete calligraphy of Werumeus Buning's 'Ballade van den boer', with illustrations of Indonesian farmers with their buffalo. The compiler gives a short sketch of Maria's life and there are a few old snapshots.
