An illustration of the situation and political developments, especially on the island of Bali, from the early 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, during which time the Dutch government began to spread its political influence and establish its colonial government on the island of Bali. In this situation, the Dutch colonialists faced challenges, intense and heroic resistance from the Balinese kings and the Balinese people as a whole. A review of tactics, cunning, and later Dutch military action aimed at placing the island of Bali directly under the control of the Dutch government.
