              Ubud is one of the sub-districts in Gianyar Regency, located approximately 20 kilometers north of Denpasar and 10 kilometers from Gianyar. Ubud District consists of 7 Villages and 1 Kelurahan with the following details: 1. Mas Village 2. Lodtunduh Village 3. Peliatan Village 4. Singakerta Village 5. Sayan Village 6. Petulu Village 7. Kedewatan Village 8. Ubud Village.

              Geographically, the location of the Ubud village area is very strategic: this village is flanked by villages which are famous for handicrafts and arts. Famous painters from Ubud include Blanco, Bonnet, Walter Spies, Neka and Sobrat. Ubud became known as a place for tourism with the leadership of the king of Ubud, Tjokorda Gede Raka Sukawati.

              Ubud merupakan salah satu kecamatan di Kabupaten Gianyar, terletak kurang lebih 20 kilometer sebelah utara Denpasar dan 10 kilometer dari Gianyar. Kecamatan Ubud terdiri dari 7 Desa dan 1 Kelurahan dengan rincian sebagai berikut: 1. Desa Mas 2. Desa Lodtunduh 3. Desa Peliatan 4. Desa Singakerta 5. Desa Sayan 6. Desa Petulu 7. Desa Kedewatan 8. Kelurahan Ubud.

              Secara geografis, letak kawasan desa Ubud sangat strategis: desa ini diapit oleh desa-desa yang terkenal dengan kerajinan dan keseniannya. Pelukis terkenal dari Ubud antara lain Blanco, Bonnet, Walter Spies, Neka dan Sobrat. Ubud mulai dikenal sebagai tempat pariwisata dengan kepemimpinan raja Ubud, Tjokorda Gede Raka Sukawati.
