Saras Dewi, whose full name is Luh Gede Saraswati Putri, was born in Denpasar, Bali, September 16, 1983. Since she was a teenager, Saras has loved singing and writing poetry. In 2002, she released an album titled "Chrysan" with the single "Lembayung Bali". This album was nominated for the Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Award in the categories of Best Ballad and Best Single. In 2014, Saras and other Balinese artists sang together for the Bali Reject Reclamation movement.

Saras has also published a number of books. His first book of poetry, entitled “Jiwa Putih” was published in 2004. The second is a non-fiction book on Human Rights published in 2006 by UI Press in collaboration with the European Union, while the third book entitled “Love Not Chocolate” was published in 2010, the fourth book was published in 2015 entitled “Ekophenomenology”, and the fifth book is an anthology of poetry entitled “Kekasih Teluk” (2017). His writings in the form of essays/articles with social, cultural, ecological, political themes were published in various mass media, including Media Indonesia, Jawa Pos, Bali Post.

Saras is an environmental activist who is very concerned about the Movement to Reject the Reclamation of Benoa Bay. She is also involved in the feminist movement and the defense of women's rights. Saras successfully completed her doctoral program at the University of Indonesia at the age of 29 in July 2013. Apart from continuing to write and being an activist, Saras teaches philosophy and is the Head of the Philosophy Study Program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of Indonesia.

Saras Dewi bernama lengkap Luh Gede Saraswati Putri, lahir di Denpasar, Bali, 16 September 1983. Sejak remaja Saras sudah menyukai kegiatan menyanyi dan menulis puisi. Pada 2002, dia meluncurkan album lagu bertajuk “Chrysan” dengan single "Lembayung Bali".Album ini masuk nominasi Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Award dalam kategori Best Ballad dan Best Single. Pada tahun 2014, Saras bersama artis Bali lainnya menyanyi bersama untuk gerakan Bali Tolak Reklamasi.

Saras juga telah menerbitkan sejumlah buku. Buku puisi pertamanya berjudul “Jiwa Putih” terbit tahun 2004. Buku yang kedua merupakan buku nonfiksi tentang Hak Azasi Manusia yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2006 oleh UI Press bekerja sama dengan Uni Eropa, sedangkan buku ketiga berjudul “Cinta Bukan Coklat” terbit pada tahun 2010, buku keempat terbit pada tahun 2015 berjudul “Ekofenomenologi”, dan buku kelima berupa antologi puisi berjudul “Kekasih Teluk” (2017). Tulisan-tulisannya berupa esai/artikel dengan tema sosial, budaya, ekologi, politik dimuat di berbagai media massa, antara lain Media Indonesia, Jawa Pos, Bali Post.

Saras adalah seorang aktivis lingkungan yang sangat konsen dalam Gerakan Tolak Reklamasi Teluk Benoa. Dia juga terlibat dalam gerakan feminisme dan pembelaan hak-hak perempuan. Saras berhasil menyelesaikan program doctoral di Universitas Indonesia saat usia 29 tahun pada bulan Juli 2013. Selain terus menulis dan menjadi aktivis, Saras mengajar filsafat dan menjadi Ketua Program Studi Ilmu Filsafat di Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Indonesia.
