  • fruit i an oblate capsule, qbout 2 mm. in diameter, smooth. Used as a diuretic to treat kidney and liver problems for for other purposes.
  • medicinal herb: Phylllanthus amarus (Euphorbiaceae)
  • annual, erect, glabrous herb up to 60 cm. tall
  • branchlets about 4e - 12 cm long with about 15 - 30 leaves that are elliptical-oblong, 5-11 mm. x 3-6 mm. Obtuse or rounded at bases
  • flowers p ale green with 5 or 6 calyx lobes
