  • tataban is inside the marit, between it and the chest bone.
  • turtle cartilage from the edge of the turtle shell only
  • it is only about as wide as the index and second finger
  • it is not used to make rames
  • it does not have the waxy consistency of tataban, and so cannot be sliced up into slivers like tataban
  • only tataban is used for this purpose
