  • shrub or small tree with white flowers, oblong leaves about 15 x 8 cm., white flowers, and globular red fruit about 1.5 cm. in diameter. The bark is used for cordage in some parts of Asia, but not in Bali. A tea made from the dried fruit is widely used in Java as medicine for many ailments. The plant is raised in some parts of Bali as an ornamental.
