[example 1]
(proverb) Leave an egg in the safekeeping of a crow. The crow will eat the egg. Used especially in a situation where a pretty girl works for a man. He will inevitably make love to her. You know ahead of time that this will happen. Or could be used to refer to leaving money out in the open unguarded; or to any situation where the outcome is obvious.
