    The earthquake on Oct 16, 2021 had it's epicentre in the saddle between the two mountains Abang and Agung. Jatituhu, on the slopes of Abang was hit hard and was the location of the only fatality in the Ban area, a 5 year old child. Two more people lost their lives in Trunyan which is at the bottom of steep slope in Abang. Unfortunately the geology of Abang is unstable. For now Kopernik, Bumi Sehat and East Bali Poverty Project have been organizing relief, but we will also need to get simple emergency shelters up, etc
