Bali gives everyone the opportunity to explore the outdoors (either in the mountains or underwater), and this gives everyone the chance to gain a new skill, make new friends or develop a love for the natural world. Recently, I have gotten the courage and determination to say yes to become a certified Open Water Diver.This experience has been incredibly rewarding, as I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, my friendships grew with those I trained with and my eyes were opened to the beauty of the underwater world. With this opportunity, I realised how pressing the issues of coral bleaching and unsustainable fishing actually are and am now more determined to be a part of the solution. From this, I will join a coral restoration project in Les Village because no matter how small we contribute, every action makes a difference. We must think about the global implications yet, take action locally.The Balinese open up their island to all of us, foreigners and Indonesians so we can experience the island’s beauty and it is crucial for us to not take this for granted. I realise that a society which hugely depends on tourism has a risk, therefore respecting the customs and traditions in Bali should be a no brainer, as we would hope and expect the same of others if they are visiting our home. As of 25th March 2023, 76 foreigners have been deported fromBali for reasons that range from overstaying visas to committing crimes. Although this is a small percentage compared to the number of tourists, in this digital era, their actions go viral and can harm the image of Bali. While Bali is well-known for its tourism because of its beauty, kindness and approachability, I believe that rules should be enforced in order to maintain the quality of tourism that this island offers.Moreover, during my time here I’ve come to realise that it’s important to diversify and not put all our eggs in the same basket. During the pandemic, tourism was at a standstill which hit the people and local economy dramatically. Therefore, the Balinese have adapted to diversify their work portfolio such as farming, establishing small businesses or fishing. This lesson will carry on with me in the future, because it has shown me that trying different opportunities will help us to continue growing and adapting to an ever changing world.I will continue to learn more lessons in Bali and am grateful for all the opportunities and experiences that I’ve gotten alongside the lessons that have come with it.ngside the lessons that have come with it.)

They met their mother deeply in love with a dragon. They were angry, because they thought that because of the dragon the brother had become like that. He challenged the dragon snake to fight. In the end, the brother who had been transformed into a snake defeated the dragon. But unfortunately their mother also died in the fight. The siblings went up to Bukit Lesung. Arriving there, the brother thought he must enter the bowels of the earth, because he had become a dragon, named Naga Gombang. So as not to upset his sister, he told her to get water with a basket. In 1019-1042 A.D., the story of this ascetic Arjuna was translated and written in the form of ancient Javanese kakawin by Mpu Kanwa. The writing of this kakawin was done during the reign of King Airlangga.At the beginning of this kakawin there is a story about Arjuna who did a hermitage on Mount Mahameru to get blessings from Lord Indra. Then, he was seduced by two angels. But Arjuna passed the test. As a blessing, he was given a magic weapon by Lord Indra.There is also a story when Arjuna killed demon Niwatakawaca who controlled the demigods’ realm and disturbed the peace of the demigods.This Kakawin, although in some parts does not correspond to its original history, is very popular among the Balinese. In the manggala (opening) section of kakawin, there is a verse of honor for King Jayabhaya.The description in Kakawin Bharatayuddha is almost similar to the description of war in the Mahabharata written directly by Krishna Dvaipayana Vedavyasa 5,000 years ago. Presumably, this Kakawin is a kind of direct adaptation of the original Sanskrit text. The story in Kakawin Bharatayuddha begins with the arrival of Sri Krishna as an ambassador of peace for Pandavas. Sri Krishna did not want to eat at the Kaurava’s house, but He ate at Widura’s house.Then war broke out between the Pandavas and the Kauravas. In the Mahabharata, the description of war begins in the Bhisma Parwa section. This Kakawin Bharatayuddha is a shortened version of Bhisma Parwa, Drona Parwa, Karna Parwa, Salya Parwa to Swargarohana Parwa. It is said that the war in Kuruksetra took place in December. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. The criteria for respondents used in this study are Balinese women who are married, live with their parents-in-law and husband's family and work. Through coding analysis, it was found several things that included the adjustment process, namely constraints including shock, conflicts with in-laws, conflicts with husbands, financial problems and having excess roles. The factors that influence self-adjustment include experience, learning process, self-concept, family support and environmental conditions. Then the actions taken to overcome obstacles is building a good coping strategies.
